This manga is about a girl named Teruko (means: shining child) who finds a star that is injured. She asks it where it came from and what it's name was. "Akihiko, because it means bright and shining prince, for I am The Prince of the Universe. I come from space, and was found injured after a fight with Raiden (The name of the Japanese god of thunder, meaning "thunder and lightning") , my rival, the Star of Thunder, who has always been trying to take over the universe. I was taken to an academy in Antarctica where young girls who find stars lying about are taken to. The stars are taken, too. It is a school where young Star Riders learn to be a legendary Star Cadet, which no one has ever acheived, not even the instructors." Teruko was then flown to the academy by Akihiko.
